Job description

1. Production Planning & Operations

  • Develop and implement production plans based on customer orders, forecasts, and requirements from OEM/Tier 1 customers.
  • Coordinate manpower, machinery, equipment, and raw materials across key production processes
  • Monitor daily production progress and promptly resolve issues related to material shortages, machine breakdowns, manpower shortages, and other operational disruptions.
  • Ensure production schedules are achieved and customer On-Time Delivery (OTD) targets are consistently met.
  • Optimize production capacity, workflow, line balancing, and resource utilization.

2. Production Team Management

  • Manage and lead Production Supervisors, Line Leaders, Team Leaders, and production operators.
  • Plan manpower allocation, shift schedules, and overtime in line with production requirements.
  • Provide training and coaching on work skills, operating standards, quality awareness, and workplace safety.
  • Monitor employee performance through relevant KPIs and recommend appropriate recognition, rewards, or disciplinary actions.
  • Build a productive, disciplined, and quality-focused production team.

3. Cost & Productivity Management

  • Control production costs, including labor, scrap, rework, material consumption, and other manufacturing expenses.
  • Monitor and improve key production performance indicators
  • Identify opportunities to improve productivity and reduce manufacturing costs.
  • Drive Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, waste reduction, and continuous improvement initiatives.

4. Quality & Automotive Manufacturing Standards

  • Ensure production processes comply with established quality standards, work instructions, and customer-specific requirements.
  • Work closely with QA/QC to investigate and resolve process defects, customer complaints, and quality claims.
  • Support and maintain key automotive quality documents and systems
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions using methodologies such as 8D, 5 Why, and other problem-solving tools.
  • Participate in internal audits and customer audits and ensure timely implementation of corrective actions.

5. Equipment & Maintenance Coordination

  • Coordinate closely with the Maintenance/Engineering team to ensure production machinery and equipment operate reliably and efficiently.
  • Monitor machine availability and support preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
  • Promptly address equipment-related issues that may impact production output, quality, or delivery.

6. Safety & EHS Management

  • Ensure strict compliance with occupational health and safety regulations, EHS requirements, and fire prevention and firefighting (PCCC) standards.
  • Promote a strong safety culture throughout the production area.
  • Investigate and respond to production and safety incidents in accordance with established procedures.
  • Ensure production employees follow safety rules, PPE requirements, and standard operating procedures.

Job Requirement

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 8–10 years of experience in manufacturing, with at least 3–5 years in a Production Management or equivalent leadership position.
  • Experience in automotive manufacturing, particularly automotive wire harness/cable assembly, is highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of production processes, production planning, line balancing, manpower management, and manufacturing operations.
  • Good understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, OEE, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Knowledge of automotive quality tools and systems such as PPAP, Control Plan, 8D, 5 Why, and Traceability.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, decision-making, and team management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and handle a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Good command of English for communication and work-related purposes.
  • Proficient in MS Office and familiar with production management systems/ERP.
